Its been two years sine Badu dropped New Amerykah Part One (4th World War). The end of March marks her return with the follow-up EP New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh).
The video for her first single Window Seat has everyone talking. Find out why after the jump.
The clip for the first single is directed by Chike and Coodie. You may not recall the names but these two Chicago representatives were responsible for Kanye's Through The Wire video. Not featured in the video but having an obvious presence on the track is ?uestlove whose drum riffs gently stroke the song.
There has been some talk about whether or not Badu has "sold out" because the censored nudity in the video. While many will enjoy the soulful singers shapely figure on full display, the clip is obviously an artistic statement and not an attempt to sell sex...at least at this point. In fact, Badu mentions that the video is inspired by Matt and Kim's Lessons Learned video.
