U NDERESTIMATED
H is name comes from a melting pot of people, experiences, and influences. His writing is embedded with knowledge, conversations with God, and life, told through the eyes of a man who is living, rather than simply existing. Through travels, personal struggles, school yard “battles”, and prison, he has emerged as an MC, a writer---an artist.
A self proclaimed lyricist, Closed Casket is making no apologies—or excuses—as he delivers what he calls “the other side of the game”. Much like a closed casket, his lyrics are symbolic of what people “don’t want to see”; yet, are anxious to have revealed. Representing North Charlotte, Closed Casket is an artist who, conscious of the energy around him, seeks to rely on the “art of storytelling”, rather than the “bubble gum” gimmicks, to share his passion with the world. His verbal swagger is comparable to that of Scarface and his relationship with rhetoric is reminiscent of Tupac’s. Refreshingly, however, his style is his own….that “original throwback” with a twist-----something he feels the game craves. Supported by a tenacious street team, a growing fan base, and a non-negotiable dream to rise above the competition, Closed Casket is putting in work in every aspect of the game. His album, Coffin Call, is currently being distributed and he is already working on his next project.
