If you want to eat free you have several options. There's the dine and dash method. Or you could wait for the next free chicken promotion. Or you put politics in action, reduce waste and show the ultimate form of resourcefulness. Meet the Freegans.
"Freegans are people who employ alternative strategies for living based on limited participation in the conventional economy and minimal consumption of resources. Freegans embrace community, generosity, social concern, freedom, cooperation, and sharing in opposition to a society based on materialism, moral apathy, competition, conformity, and greed."
In this pod a group of freegans show how much edible food is wasted by a Manhattan grocery store each night.
