Today Gilbert Arenas managed to avoid jail time in his weapons possessions case. Those familiar with the story recall the NBA star guard of the Washington Wizards being questioned in connection with a feud with a fellow teammate - a feud that escalated to the point of guns being drawn in the locker room.

Many expected the judge in this case to sentence Arenas to some jail time and make an example of his celebrity status. In a shocking move Gilbert was only given thirty days in a halfway house.

Compare that with the three months in jail the prosecution was asking for and Gilbert may have gotten off easier than any celebrity in recent memory. After all, Plaxico got more time for shooting himself.
