Statement of Propose

 

NuFacesNC.com is a concept born from the ideas of several North Carolina State University students returning from a road trip to Atlanta.

 

Inspired by Atlanta’s urban entertainment industry and its major players’ ability to promote local talent across genres, NuFacesNC.com pondered what initiatives were need to create the same environment for the people of North Carolina.

 

Having already founded a campus organization at NCSU to foster growth in cultural awareness and entrepreneurship, the founders of NuFacesNC.com had already become trendsetters in the Triangle area. By sponsoring parties, talent shows, and cultural events, the founders realized the contacts were in place. What was needed was a vehicle for connecting the parts and exposing their offerings.

 

The absence of publications designed by and for the urban market in North Carolina offered a void that, if field, would accomplish the end goal.

 

Thus the acronym Networking Unit For Arts Commerce and Entertainment and Sports in North Carolina was born. Over the past ten years the founders have been developing the concept and technology necessary to carry out the mission.

 

Goals

 

• Represent North Carolina.

• Embody the character, the voice, and the spirit of our readers

• Balance hard news reporting with creative literary journalism.

• Support aspiring journalists, artists, and activists by offering them the opportunity to exercise, contribute, and develop their skills to help launch successful careers.

 

How do I get involved?

 

The content featured here at www.nufacesnc.com is the product of many independent contributors. The NFNC Media Group is an informal collective of freelance writers, photographers, and videographers that volunteer their work not for compensation but in a reciprocal partnership that aims to encourage and promote their work. We host annual parties and provide resources and benefits to all loyal contributors. In other words, we provide plenty of perks to our members.

There are many ways to get involved and help the movement.
